That is so true. Silence and stillness within us can be a real sanctuary where we can often hear God speaking to us.
When working in the City of London I used to spend many a lunch hour in church. There are many churches in the area, always open, and often empty. I used to spend a good 30 minutes or so in total silence in these big buildings and feel His presence. I used to go to a different church each day.
Whenever I travel up and down the country on business, I often try to find a church where I spend time in silence and stillness.
