Freedom From Want

Our Father in Heaven,
We give thanks for the pleasure
Of gathering together for this occasion.

We give thanks for this food

Prepared by loving hands.
We give thanks for life,
The freedom to enjoy it all
And all other blessings.
As we partake of this food,
We pray for health and strength
To carry on and try to live as You would have us.
This we ask in the name of Christ,
Our Heavenly Father.

    • Hi Linda! I did have a wonderful day. My daughter and her family were here, my Dad and my brother and family. Sadly, my brother had to leave early (he’s a cardiologist) but we sent some dessert home for him.

  20. I love that Norman Rockwell photo. I’m such an old fashioned kind of girl. I love the Walton’s and stuff like that. I somehow even remember Thanksgivings like the photo when my grandparents hosted our gatherings as a family. I know it’s a few days past Thanksgiving but wanted to stop by to say hi to you.

I know I am a couple of days late, but I’ve been busy recreating that scene here in our home…well, it didn’t exactly look like that, but it had all the same sentiments and was well seasoned with love. Such a happy time together. Thank you for sharing this with us.

  26. Hello Dear Ceil,
    How are you doing after this wonderful week of blessings? You have been such a blessing to so many bloggers!
    I am still a bit full and will spend this week catching up, as most of us took some time for fun and family!
    I did get a new computer and it is a windows 8.1 and it is so hard to get used to it!
    I do look forward to CHRISTmas and all the sweet busy things that come with it.
    We did choose to get a real tree this year and it smells wonderful in our home. Blessings, Roxy

    • Hi Roxy! Happy belated Thanksgiving to you! I can so relate to the new computer thing. When we got our first desktop computer, I had a headache for three days. I was so sure I would blow it up by doing something horrible.

      I think the Windows 8 should be so much fun once you get to know it. I’ll bet the graphics are amazing :)
      I have been a little spotty with keeping up with blog-friends too, no worries! We had my daughter and her family here for a few days, so it was busy and fun.
